Senior Tableau Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tableau Developer with strong expertise in Tableau development, embedded analytics, API integrations, and enterprise BI solutions.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience extending Tableau capabilities across Salesforce and Slack, along with integrating Tableau with Claude AI (Anthropic) to enable AI-powered analytics, conversational insights, and intelligent data interactions.

This role requires someone who can go beyond traditional Tableau dashboard development and build integrated, AI-enabled analytics experiences across enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize interactive Tableau dashboards, reports, and enterprise analytics solutions.
• Embed Tableau dashboards and analytics capabilities within Salesforce applications using Tableau Embedding API and relevant integration methods.
• Integrate Tableau with Slack to enable dashboard sharing, automated notifications, analytics workflows, and interactive insights.
• Develop integrations between Tableau and Claude AI using APIs, middleware, or secure application services.
• Build AI-powered analytics experiences supporting natural-language queries, contextual insights, and conversational analytics.
• Leverage Tableau REST API, Metadata API, and Embedding API to extend Tableau functionality across enterprise platforms.
• Develop custom integrations using Python, JavaScript, or other appropriate programming languages.
• Work with Salesforce APIs, authentication mechanisms, and integration frameworks.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, connected apps, and role-based access controls.
• Optimize Tableau dashboard performance, SQL queries, extracts, and data models.
• Collaborate with Salesforce Developers, AI Engineers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Ensure enterprise-grade security, data governance, and appropriate access controls across integrated analytics solutions.

Required Skills (Must-Have)

• Tableau Development & Architecture
• Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Cloud / Server, and Tableau Prep.
• Expertise in dashboards, calculated fields, LOD expressions, parameters, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Tableau REST API, Embedding API, and Metadata API.
• Tableau + Salesforce Integration
• Experience embedding Tableau dashboards and analytics within Salesforce applications.
• Knowledge of Salesforce Lightning Experience, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Salesforce APIs.
• Understanding of Salesforce authentication, OAuth 2.0, and connected apps.
• Tableau + Slack Integration
• Experience integrating Tableau analytics with Slack.
• Knowledge of Slack APIs, Slack apps, webhooks, and workflow automation.
• Ability to expose Tableau insights, notifications, and dashboard access through Slack.
• Tableau + Claude AI Integration
• Experience with Anthropic Claude API or comparable enterprise LLM integrations.
• Understanding of LLM-powered analytics, natural-language querying, and conversational BI.
• Ability to securely connect Tableau data and metadata with AI applications through APIs, middleware, or custom services.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering, context management, and AI integration patterns.
• Programming & API Integration
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Python and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, OAuth 2.0, and enterprise integration architectures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Tableau, Business Intelligence, or Analytics Development preferred.
• Proven experience developing enterprise Tableau solutions and API-based integrations.
• Strong problem-solving, architecture, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently design and deliver integrations across multiple enterprise platforms.
