On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Senior Solution Architect for a 12 month contract based Remotely. This is a part time role (3 days per week).

Role Purpose

The Senior Solution Architect will provide technical leadership and oversight across a portfolio of digital transformation projects, ensuring that supplier-delivered solutions adhere to architectural principles and integrate seamlessly within the organisational landscape. Working closely with stakeholders, this role will deliver robust, scalable and secure solutions, fully aligned to Network Rail's standards for interoperability, governance and strategic technology direction.

As a Senior Solution Architect, your main responsibilities will be to:
. Define, develop and assure solution architectures across a portfolio of digital transformation programmes, driving alignment with Network Rail's enterprise architecture and technology roadmaps.
. Engage with suppliers to ensure design integrity, architectural compatibility, and appropriate use of standards and patterns across all solutions.
. Review and sign off supplier solution designs, ensuring compliance with organisational principles, policies, and integration requirements.
. Champion the use of learning technology and master data management solutions (including CluedIn), ensuring data consistency, quality and accessibility across the project landscape.
. Lead on Azure webservices and system integrations, providing technical direction and assurance for cloud-based solutions and interoperability.
. Facilitate and participate in architecture boards, workshops and technical design reviews, fostering stakeholder engagement and consensus while identifying, managing and mitigating technical risks associated with solution delivery, integration and ongoing support.
. Work within the DDaT project delivery life cycle governance framework, ensuring that all solution designs and integrations adhere to required standards and best practices.
. Produce and maintain architectural documentation, including Oversight Solution Design (OSD) and Detailed Solution Design (DSD) artefacts, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and robust solution assurance.

Skills & Experience:
. Proven track record as a Solution Architect in complex, multi-supplier environments.
. In-depth understanding of Azure webservices and integration best practices.
. Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to operate across technical and business domains.
. Proficiency in producing Solution Design documentation, including Oversight Solution Designs (OSD) and Detailed Solution Designs (DSD), with a keen eye for detail and clarity.
. Ability to produce high-quality architectural documentation and decision records.
. Experience working within architectural governance frameworks, such as DDaT, and applying standardised approaches to solution assurance.

Desirable:
. Experience within the rail, transport or infrastructure sectors.
. Experience of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, ideally CluedIn.
. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications (TOGAF, Azure Architecture, etc.).
