Summary: The Senior ServiceNow Consultant ITAM / CMDB Project Lead is responsible for independently leading a project aimed at improving IT Asset Management records. This role requires hands-on expertise in ServiceNow, focusing on data quality initiatives related to ITAM and CMDB. The consultant will conduct assessments, develop remediation roadmaps, and collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate asset management. Immediate start is required for this remote position based in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end ITAM/CMDB data quality initiative as the primary driver.
  • Conduct initial assessments of CMDB and Asset data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues.
  • Develop and execute a remediation roadmap covering processes, data sources, tools, and integrations.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Network, Security, Procurement, and Support teams to validate asset ownership and configuration accuracy.
  • Configure and tune Discovery probes/patterns and MID Server settings hands-on.
  • Manage Identification & Reconciliation (IReconciler) rules to resolve conflicts and improve data fidelity.
  • Deliver structured weekly status updates to leadership and produce clear documentation at each project milestone.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow experience with a strong focus on CMDB, Discovery, MID Servers, and Asset Management.
  • Proven ability to configure ServiceNow independently.
  • Strong analytical skills with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation).
  • Able to independently lead technical troubleshooting and drive decisions.
  • Track record of delivering documentation and project artifacts on agreed timelines.

About the role

We are looking for a practitioner not an advisor. You will be expected to lead, configure, and deliver independently from day one.

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow ITAM/CMDB consultant to lead a cross-functional initiative to improve the accuracy and completeness of our IT Asset Management records. The right candidate will take full ownership of the project driving assessment, remediation, and stakeholder alignment while demonstrating hands-on ServiceNow expertise in every engagement.

What you'll own

Lead the end-to-end ITAM/CMDB data quality initiative as the primary driver not a support resource

Includes Desktop (Physical/Virtual), Servers (Physical/Virtual), Network Equipment, and all tracked IT assets

Conduct an initial assessment of CMDB and Asset data gaps, inconsistencies, and quality issues; produce a written findings report within the first three to four weeks

Develop and execute a remediation roadmap covering processes, data sources, tools, and integrations

Partner with Infrastructure, Network, Security, Procurement, and Support teams to validate asset ownership, lifecycle status, and configuration accuracy

Configure and tune Discovery probes/patterns and MID Server settings directly hands-on

Manage Identification & Reconciliation (IReconciler) rules to resolve conflicts and improve data fidelity

Deliver structured weekly status updates to leadership; proactively flag risks before they become blockers

Produce clear documentation at each project milestone without requiring follow-up requests
