Summary: The Senior Quantity Surveyor role involves overseeing the commercial management of various projects for a main contractor specializing in sustainable heating and cooling solutions across the UK. This position is remote with occasional travel and is classified as outside IR35 for an initial six-month period. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Commercial Manager and manage cost control, subcontract procurement, and contract compliance. A background in civil engineering or district heating works is preferred, along with a willingness to travel to sites monthly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost management & budget control
  • Subcontract procurement and management, including leading the procurement process for subcontractors
  • Assessing applications for payment, variations, and final accounts
  • Preparing and submitting interim valuations to the client
  • Securing timely and accurate payments, managing cash flow on each project
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing variations and changes
  • Administering the main contract ensuring compliance with terms (JCT/NEC)

Key Skills:

  • Understanding of civil engineering or district heating works

Job Title : Senior Quantity Surveyor

Rate : £450 per day / OUTSIDE IR35

Location : Remote (with travel)

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a busy and growing main contractor that provides sustainable heating and cooling through district heating schemes to clients across the UK. The role is offered on a remote basis, outside IR35 and for an initial period of around 6 months.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be working with the Commercial Manager and overseeing the commercial management of a number of projects for both commercial and residential clients across the UK.

Some of the Senior Quantity Surveyors key duties will include:

  • Cost management & budget control
  • Subcontract procurement and management including leading the procurement process for subcontractors, assessing applications for payment, variations and final accounts.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations to the client
  • Secure timely and accurate payments, managing cash flow on each project
  • Identify, asses and manage variations and changes
  • Administer the main contract ensuring compliance with terms (JCT/NEC)

Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need an understanding of civil engineering, or specifically, district heating works and be happy to travel to sites across the UK 1-2 times a month (all expenses paid).
