Summary: The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing the end-to-end QA strategy for a product while collaborating closely with a small development team. This role involves both manual and automated testing across web and API layers, ensuring high code quality and defect detection. The engineer will also integrate testing processes into CI/CD pipelines and promote a quality-first mindset within the team. This position is a 12-month contract based in the UK and is remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the QA strategy for an asset or product.
  • Design test plans, test cases, and test data for functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Perform manual testing across web and API layers, covering workflows, edge cases, and UI behaviour.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites for API, integration, and regression testing (Postman, Pytest, Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure high code quality and early defect detection.
  • Integrate testing processes into CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gates before release.
  • Track, report, and prioritise defects using tools like JIRA.
  • Improve QA processes and promote a quality-first mindset, including mentoring others on testing best practices.
