Summary: The role of Senior Project Manager involves leading the planning and delivery of digital workstream activities for a central government department, specifically focusing on transport clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and delivery of digital workstream activities
- Manage service design and transition, including acceptance criteria, catalogue definition, and service level/KPI mapping
- Establish and recruit/organise delivery teams or partners, with input from Programme Manager
- Oversee delivery management of service creation and product implementation
- Provide insight on legacy services, validate delivery approach, timescales, RAID, resource, and budget
- Input into options appraisals, risk/issue/cost analysis
- Maintain detailed project documentation, plans, updates, and reports
- Ensure work is delivered to agreed standards, budget, and timescales
- Sequence technology migrations/rollouts
- Track project performance against short- and long-term goals
- Undertake risk management and prepare communications for wider stakeholders
- Deliverables: Approved project plans, updated monthly
- Comprehensive logs of risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies
- Regular reporting to project/programme boards, including RAG status and stakeholder engagement
- Support technical analysis and documentation for systems, data, cloud, security, and integration
- Solution proposals for transition and post-transition states
- Support successful transition of staff and continuity of service
- Support digital delivery setup including cloud infrastructure, system/data analysis, site setup, and knowledge transfer
