Summary: The Senior Project Manager role focuses on overseeing a portfolio of large-scale energy storage projects, guiding them through the final stages of development to Financial Investment Decision (FID). The position requires a strong background in utility-scale battery storage and energy infrastructure, with responsibilities including coordinating multi-disciplinary workstreams and managing project risks. This role is remote and offers a 12-month renewable contract outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of a portfolio of late-stage energy storage projects, driving them through the final development phases to FID.
- Coordinate planning, grid, technical, environmental, land, legal and commercial workstreams, ensuring alignment and timely progress.
- Lead the preparation and execution of contracting strategies, supporting procurement, tendering and contract structuring.
- Work closely with grid operators (DNO/TO/NGESO) to manage grid connection requirements, milestones and technical deliverables.
- Identify project risks, constraints and dependencies; implement mitigation strategies and provide clear decision-making recommendations.
- Manage project schedules, reporting, budgets and development spend, ensuring accuracy, transparency and governance compliance.
- Act as the key interface between internal teams, consultants, technical advisors and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the project is technically, commercially and legally ready to progress into construction at FID.
Key Skills:
- Proven background delivering large-scale renewable, energy storage or grid-connected infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in late-stage development, pre-FID readiness, or front-end project management.
- Understanding of grid connection processes (G99/G100, DNO/TO interactions, offers, milestones).
- Ability to manage multiple parallel projects and drive progress across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with commercial evaluation, contracting strategy, procurement support or tender coordination.
- Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working remotely while managing projects across England, Scotland and Wales.

Project Manager – Energy Storage (Development to FID) Location – Remote Mint Selection are supporting a leading UK energy infrastructure developer seeking experienced Project Managers to take ownership of a portfolio of large-scale energy storage projects and drive them through the final stages of development toward FID. This role is ideal for a highly capable Project Manager with experience in utility-scale battery storage, long-duration energy storage, or grid-connected energy infrastructure. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary workstreams including planning, grid, technical, commercial and contracting ensuring each project reaches investment decision with a robust, bankable delivery plan.
