Summary: The Senior Project Engineer role focuses on leading the design and implementation of SCADA/EMS systems within energy management solutions. The candidate will leverage extensive experience in system integration and project lifecycle management to ensure successful delivery of utility and energy automation projects. This position requires strong technical skills, particularly in UNIX/Linux environments and communication protocols, along with the ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across teams. The role is remote but may require travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and implementation of SCADA and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Develop engineering documentation, system architecture, and implementation plans aligned with project and industry standards.
  • Integrate SCADA/EMS applications with communication protocols including DNP3, Modbus, and ICCP.
  • Manage projects from requirement gathering to deployment, commissioning, and post-implementation support.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), cutovers, and system commissioning activities.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate resource allocation, timeline adherence, and budget management.
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and customer workshops.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex real-time control system issues.
  • Perform system performance tuning, optimization, and reliability improvements.
  • Support migration of legacy systems to modernized platforms while minimizing service impact.
  • Create and maintain UNIX/Linux shell scripts to automate testing and operational processes.
  • Utilize configuration management and version control tools such as IBM Rational ClearCase.
  • Ensure systems comply with cybersecurity standards including NERC CIP.
  • Maintain detailed change documentation, compliance records, and engineering updates.
  • Mentor junior engineers to strengthen technical capability and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct training on SCADA/EMS tools, energy management applications, and system integration standards.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer with strong expertise in SCADA/EMS systems, energy management solutions, and real-time control environments. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience in GE Reliance, system integration, UNIX/Linux environments, communication protocols, and full project lifecycle management. This role involves leading engineering design, coordinating cross-functional teams, conducting rigorous testing, and ensuring successful delivery of utility and energy automation projects.


Key Responsibilities


SCADA/EMS System Engineering

Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and implementation of SCADA and Energy Management Systems (EMS).

Develop engineering documentation, system architecture, and implementation plans aligned with project and industry standards.

Integrate SCADA/EMS applications with communication protocols including DNP3, Modbus, and ICCP.
