Key Responsibilities:
- Mentoring and managing junior ecologists
- Leading ecological surveys and assessments (e.g., UKHab, protected species, EcIA)
- Providing ecological advice across internal teams and to external clients
- Managing projects and producing technical reports and ecological management plans
- Liaising with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in ecological consultancy
- At least one protected species licence
- Full membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM - desirable)
- Strong skills in habitat and protected species surveys (PEA, UKHab, BNG, bats, badger, water vole, etc.)
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Experience preparing fee proposals and risk assessments
- Ability to manage and analyse ecological data
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
