Summary: The Senior Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the foundational infrastructure for development teams at DoiT, focusing on AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Terraform. This position requires hands-on contributions to the design, implementation, and automation of the platform, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and security. The role emphasizes collaboration with development teams and driving automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. The position is remote and available to contractors in various EMEA locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Function as an individual contributor within the team, collaborating through code reviews and providing mentorship.
• Architect, design, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters on AWS (EKS) and GCP (GKE).
• Develop and maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines for platform components.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve platform-related issues.
• Drive automation initiatives to streamline operational tasks and enhance system reliability.
• Act as a strategic partner to development teams, understanding and addressing their infrastructure needs.
• Contribute to the development of internal tools and services to enhance platform functionality.
• Implement and enforce rigorous security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Skills:

• 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps engineering, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), and Terraform.
• Expertise in building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure.
• Strong coding skills in Go or Typescript, or other relevant languages.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Argo CD, Atlantis, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
• Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Self-organized, goal-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote and distributed team environment.
• Prior experience in platform engineering projects.
