Senior GCP DevOps / Cloud Engineer £500–£550 per day | Outside IR35 | 100% Remote UK Contract: Initial 3–6 months Clearance: SC cleared or SC eligible
There is years worth of contracting here... such a massive project.
Want to build seriously complex GCP infrastructure rather than spend the next six months maintaining somebody else's Terraform?
You'll be join an established technology company building the foundations for a major new data platform operating within highly secure and restricted environments in the defense sector.
The interesting bit is the architecture.
The platform spans edge and central Kubernetes clusters with replication between them, creating some genuinely difficult engineering problems around inter-cluster networking, connectivity, security, resilience and operating across restricted/disconnected environments.
What you'll be getting stuck into
- Building and operating production infrastructure across GCP GKE / Kubernetes at serious scale
- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD and automated deployments
- Prometheus, Grafana and Loki
- Kubernetes networking and security
- Edge and central cluster architecture
- Replication across distributed environments
- Operating and owning an open-source stack end-to-end
- Secure and hardened infrastructure
They need somebody who's already operated serious production cloud infrastructure.
This isn't the environment to learn Kubernetes or large-scale infrastructure for the first time.
Experience with air-gapped environments, multi-cluster architectures, Cilium/eBPF, Kafka/Strimzi, Vault, Keycloak or large-scale data/ML platforms would make you particularly interesting.
You'll also need to already hold SC clearance or be willing and eligible to undergo SC clearance.
To be eligible for SC you need
- Need the last 5 years to have had a permemant residency in the UK
- British Passport/ILR
- No criminal record
They will cover all the payments and admin to take you through this.
If you're a proper hands-on GCP/Kubernetes engineer who likes solving difficult infrastructure problems, please apply even if you don't have an up-to-date CV.
