Senior Oracle DBA

Summary: The Senior Oracle DBA role involves the administration and support of Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer environments, including database management and migration projects. The position requires expertise in disaster recovery and high availability solutions, ensuring compliance with recovery objectives. The role is primarily remote, focusing on both operational and strategic database initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, administer, and support Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) environments.
• Manage Oracle Cloud@Customer infrastructure, compute, storage, networking, and database services.
• Perform system provisioning, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, networking, security, and Oracle support teams.
• Administer Oracle databases across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
• Configure and manage Oracle RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN backup and recovery, and Goldengate (preferred).
• Monitor database health, performance, storage utilization, and availability.
• Troubleshoot complex database, cluster, and infrastructure issues.
• Lead Oracle database migration projects from on-premises to ExaCC/Cloud@Customer environments.
• Perform data migration, platform migration, database consolidation, cross-version upgrades, and minimal-downtime migration strategies.
• Validate post-migration performance and stability.
• Design and implement DR architecture using Oracle Data Guard and related technologies.
• Set up and validate DR sites for ExaCC and Oracle Cloud@Customer environments.
• Conduct DR drills, failover/failback testing, and business continuity exercises.
• Ensure HA/DR compliance with RTO/RPO objectives.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer administration.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database management and administration.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, and Goldengate.
• Proficient in database migration and modernization strategies.
• Understanding of disaster recovery and high availability solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex database and infrastructure issues.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
