What You'll Do
- Administer, maintain, and support Oracle database environments hosted in AWS and/or OCI
- Manage Oracle database backup, recovery, restore, and disaster recovery processes
- Design and support database replication and high-availability environments
- Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and overall health
- Troubleshoot complex Oracle database and infrastructure issues
- Support database upgrades, patches, migrations, and ongoing maintenance
- Build and implement secure, scalable, and sustainable database solutions
- Ensure database environments follow security and operational best practices
- Partner with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams
- Evaluate cloud resource utilization and identify opportunities for cost optimization
- Understand and manage the cost implications of database architecture, storage, compute, backups, replication, and other cloud services
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Participate in architecture discussions and recommend improvements to cloud database environments
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
- Strong hands-on experience managing Oracle databases in a cloud environment
- Experience with AWS and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Strong knowledge of Oracle backup, recovery, and restore processes
- Experience managing database replication and high-availability environments
- Experience supporting disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
- Strong understanding of Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience with database upgrades, patching, and migrations
- Strong understanding of database security and access controls
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and the operational differences between cloud and on-premise environments
- Understanding of cloud cost management and optimization
- Ability to design secure, scalable, sustainable, and cost-effective technical solutions
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft environments, including PeopleSoft applications running on Oracle databases
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is a plus, but not required
- Experience with Workday environments or integrations is a plus
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in complex cloud environments
