Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and health of critical Oracle database systems.
  • Conduct in-depth database and application SQL performance tuning, with significant experience optimizing performance in Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments.
  • Design, implement, and manage comprehensive backup and recovery strategies utilizing the full functionality of Oracle RMAN.
  • Plan, execute, and validate database upgrades and patching activities, particularly focusing on in-place upgrades and release updates within Oracle and RAC environments.
  • Implement, configure, and manage Oracle Data Guard solutions, including physical and logical standby databases, and maintain Active Data Guard (ADG) and Data Guard Broker configurations.
  • Set up, build, configure, and administer Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and manage storage using Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
  • Administer Oracle databases effectively within an AIX operating system environment (version 7.x or higher) and develop robust UNIX/Shell scripts for automation and administrative tasks.
  • Provide expert database administration support throughout the entire application system development life cycle.
  • Utilize and manage database operations using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Suite, Grid Control, TOAD, Oracle SQL Developer, and other comparable tools.
  • Work with snapshot cloning technology using Oracle ACFS with Oracle RAC and Standby database-based databases.

  • 9+ Years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • 8+ Years of experience in using the full functionality of RMAN backup utility.
  • 8+ Years of experience in database performance tuning and application SQL tuning, with at least 3 years of that experience in an Oracle RAC environment.
  • 8+ Years of experience and knowledge in supporting the applications system development life cycle.
  • 7+ Years of experience in performing database upgrades/patches, with 3 years focused on in-place upgrades/patches and release updates in Oracle or RAC.
  • 7+ Years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator using AIX (version 7.x or higher) operating system environment.
