Summary: The Senior Network Engineer (Contract) is responsible for managing the lifecycle of network components, ensuring the delivery of secure and scalable network solutions. This role requires extensive expertise in network engineering, particularly with Juniper routers, and involves leading cross-functional teams to implement best practices. The position is remote and classified as inside IR35, with a competitive daily rate based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze internal and external business requirements and recommend network solutions or best practices to meet those needs.
- Solve complex network problems by taking a broad, strategic perspective to identify effective solutions.
- Leverage functional knowledge and industry methodologies to resolve challenging network issues.
- Act as an expert within the network engineering function, providing specialized subject matter expertise.
- Lead cross-functional teams or projects, serving as a best practice and quality resource to ensure the highest standards of execution.
Key Skills:
- In-depth expertise in network engineering at scale, particularly with Juniper routers, including HLD and LLD.
- Access networks.
- Core networks.
- Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM).
- Network automation.
- Excellent understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, with a focus on Ethernet, MPLS, IPv4, and IPv6.
- Experience working in mixed vendor environments, with knowledge of product lifecycle management and technology migrations.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and inventory tools.
- Experience with software tools such as Splunk, Jira, and Ansible.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and frameworks.
