Summary: The Senior Cloud Network Engineer will lead the design and optimization of secure, scalable cloud networking solutions across a global commercial real estate firm. This role requires expertise in AWS and Azure networking, as well as experience in Infrastructure-as-Code and network automation. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to align cloud network strategies with business objectives and mentor junior engineers. The position is mostly remote and offers a competitive daily rate outside of IR35 regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement advanced cloud network architectures across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
- Lead integration of on-premises and cloud networks for secure and efficient hybrid connectivity.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to align cloud network strategies.
- Conduct cloud network architecture reviews, performance tuning, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code templates using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Create comprehensive network documentation including topology diagrams and operational procedures.
- Provide tier-3 support and root cause analysis for complex cloud and hybrid network issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead cloud networking projects from design through implementation.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of network engineering experience.
- 3+ years in cloud network architecture leadership.
- Deep expertise in AWS and Azure networking with proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Scripting skills in Python for automation and experience with container networking.
- In-depth understanding of cloud security principles, routing, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, and network segmentation.
- Experience with network security platforms and monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty or Azure Network Engineer Associate certifications preferred.

The Senior Cloud Network Engineer's responsibilities will be:
- Design and implement advanced cloud network architectures across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments including VPCs, Transit Gateways, and Direct Connect solutions.
- Lead integration of on-premises and cloud networks, ensuring secure and efficient hybrid connectivity across global infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to align cloud network strategies with business objectives.
- Conduct cloud network architecture reviews, performance tuning, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Create comprehensive network documentation including topology diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
- Provide tier-3 support and root cause analysis for complex cloud and hybrid network issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead cloud networking projects from design through implementation.
The Senior Cloud Network Engineer will be expected to have experience with:

- Scripting skills in Python for automation and hands-on experience with container networking (EKS/AKS, CNI plugins).
- In-depth understanding of cloud security principles, routing, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, and network segmentation.
- Experience with network security platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper) and monitoring tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, cloud-first environments.
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty or Azure Network Engineer Associate certifications preferred.
