Summary: The Senior Network Engineer role is a 12-month contract focused on enhancing network infrastructure within the financial services sector. The position involves configuring and maintaining routing, switching, and security devices, while also supporting continual improvement initiatives. Collaboration with various teams is essential for technical decision-making and lifecycle management of network devices. The role requires significant experience in network and voice technologies, particularly with Cisco and other firewall systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configuration and maintenance of routing, switching, and security devices within enterprise campus and Data Centre environments.
• Support continual improvement initiatives to reduce risk and increase performance, efficiency, and productivity.
• Collaborate with colleagues for technical decision-making and performance improvement.
• Manage lifecycle for all network devices, including upgrades and capacity management.
• Liaise with project management, 3rd line engineers, and service desk engineers regularly.
• Support delivery of Network/Voice solution design documents.
• Provide technical support for complex problems and share specialist experience.
• Develop advanced switching and routing, security, Data Centre architectures with VPN and wireless domains.

Key Skills:

• Significant network and voice experience.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional Routing and Switching (CCNP Routing & Switching) or equivalent experience.
• Experience with firewalls, particularly Cisco, Fortigate, Juniper, or Palo Alto.
• Strong technical expertise with Cisco devices, including ACI.
• Detailed knowledge in TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, Wireless, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and network monitoring tools.
• Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and services.
• Experience within the Financial Industry.
