Senior Mobile Automation Engineer (SC Cleared)
We're seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Automation Engineer to join a large-scale digital programme, helping shape and deliver modern mobile testing practices across multiple product teams.
Working closely with senior engineering and quality stakeholders, you'll play a key role in driving testing excellence, defining automation strategy, and ensuring high-quality mobile experiences across both iOS and Android platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement mobile automation testing strategies.
- Build, maintain and improve scalable automation frameworks.
- Drive quality engineering best practice across multiple teams.
- Deliver automated end-to-end, integration, regression and API testing.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, analysts and product stakeholders.
- Support and mentor other testers within the team.
- Champion continuous improvement across testing tools, processes and approaches.
- Influence engineering teams to adopt effective testing and quality practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Active SC Clearance.
- Strong commercial experience in mobile test automation.
- Proven experience testing both iOS and Android applications.
- Experience building or enhancing automation frameworks.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium.
- API testing experience.
- End-to-end testing experience within agile delivery environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Technical Environment: Experience with some or all of the following would be advantageous:
- Playwright
- Selenium
- Maestro
- BrowserStack
- TypeScript
- Java
- Node.js
- Express
- AWS
Desirable Experience
- AI application testing.
- Validation of streamed AI responses.
- Performance and load testing.
- Creation of automation frameworks from scratch.
- Government or large-scale digital services experience.
- Consultancy or client-facing environments.
Contract Details
Day Rate: £450 per day
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Contract Length: Initial contract through to 31 December 2026
Location: Predominantly remote, with occasional travel to London as required
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
Interview Process: Single-stage video interview
