Summary: The Senior M365 Engineer & Migration Specialist will oversee Microsoft 365 engineering and tenant-to-tenant migration projects, focusing on core M365 services. This role demands expertise in various M365 tools and services, along with the ability to collaborate with global teams. The position is a 6-month contract based in the UK, allowing for remote work. The successful candidate will drive migration delivery and operational improvements while ensuring service stability and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and support of M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations, including Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and related services.
  • Use Quest migration tools (or equivalent) to manage large-scale, complex migration activities and support cutover planning, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize M365 services to ensure performance, security, resilience, and availability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on platform issues and implement corrective and preventative measures to improve service stability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams across the UK, US, and India to coordinate migration schedules, service changes, and project deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operational standards, and standard operating procedures.
  • Engage with technical and business stakeholders across regions, provide clear communication, and support technical leadership for migration and engineering activities.
  • Support M365 engineering activities across Exchange Online, Intune, Entra ID, Teams, and SharePoint, including configuration, policy management, and service governance.
  • Develop and use PowerShell automation to improve migration execution, reporting, administration, and operational efficiency.
  • Support change control, security, and compliance processes, ensuring all operational and project changes follow governance requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 7+ years of IT experience with strong expertise in Microsoft 365 engineering, cloud collaboration platforms, and migration delivery.
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations across core collaboration and productivity services.
  • Hands-on experience with Quest migration tooling strongly preferred, with the ability to work with equivalent enterprise migration tools where required.
  • Strong knowledge of Entra ID, SSO, MFA, Intune, security hardening, compliance controls, and identity lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams and stakeholders across the UK, US, and India.
  • Strong hands-on administration experience across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Intune, with PowerShell scripting capability.
  • Strong decision-making, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
