Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Linux Systems Engineer with strong experience in Linux systems, performance tuning, and low-latency environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining high-performance Linux infrastructure supporting trading and other latency-sensitive applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain high-performance Linux servers and systems.
- Optimize Linux operating systems for low latency and high performance.
- Perform system-level tuning of CPU, memory, networking, storage, and I/O.
- Troubleshoot system performance, latency, stability, and production issues.
- Monitor system health, resource utilization, and application performance.
- Work closely with software developers, quantitative teams, and infrastructure engineers.
- Automate system administration and operational tasks using scripting.
- Support production environments and participate in incident resolution.
- Implement and maintain system security, reliability, and availability standards.
- Document configurations, processes, and performance-tuning practices.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux, preferably RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu.
- Strong understanding of Linux internals and system performance.
- Experience with CPU affinity, process/thread scheduling, NUMA, huge pages, and memory optimization.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking, routing, and network performance.
- Experience with shell scripting and automation.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-analysis skills.
- Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools such as top, vmstat, iostat, perf, sar, and similar utilities.
Low-Latency / Trading Experience
- Experience supporting low-latency, high-performance, or real-time systems.
- Understanding of latency optimization and performance benchmarking.
- Experience with high-speed networking, kernel/network tuning, or specialized NICs is preferred.
- Exposure to electronic trading, financial markets, or trading infrastructure is a strong advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DPDK, Solarflare/AMD Pensando, Mellanox/NVIDIA, or other high-performance networking technologies.
- Knowledge of kernel tuning and Linux kernel configuration.
- Experience with C/C++ environments and application performance troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Ansible, Python, Git, and CI/CD tools.
- Experience with cloud and/or bare-metal infrastructure is an advantage.
