Summary: The Senior Legal Counsel will serve as the primary legal advisor to the Strategic Partnerships team of a leading organization, focusing on negotiating complex commercial contracts with various third-party partners. This role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and legal specialists, providing pragmatic legal advice that aligns with business strategy. The position is remote with potential occasional office attendance and is initially for three months with a possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate clear, commercially focused legal agreements with strategic partners.
- Act as the first point of contact for the Strategic Partnerships contracting team, providing practical legal support.
- Liaise with business stakeholders to ensure agreements and projects align with strategic objectives while safeguarding legal protections.
- Engage with external counsel as required to ensure negotiations remain smooth and efficient.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Legal & Public Affairs team, as well as wider business stakeholders.
- Maintain a well-organised and structured approach, with strong prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Skills:
- Qualified lawyer with 8 years’ + PQE (experience in-house within marketing, technology, or commercial contracting preferred).
- Strong background in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor, balancing commercial drivers with legal risk.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence to influence and advise senior business leaders.
- Experience working across international markets and with diverse partner types (e.g. airlines, banks, or e-commerce) is advantageous.

We are working with a leading organisation that is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to act as the primary legal advisor to its Strategic Partnerships team. Our client partners with third parties including airlines, banks, e-commerce platforms, affiliate networks, corporate travel agencies, and meta-search providers—to expand distribution, drive demand, and increase bookings. This role will focus on leading negotiations of complex commercial contracts, working closely with the contracting team, internal stakeholders, and legal specialists across privacy, compliance, and competition. You will also support other areas of the Marketing and Corporate Development functions when required, providing commercial and pragmatic legal advice that shapes business strategy.
