Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Java Engineer to support the documentation, reconstruction, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer of a custom data-processing platform called EAGLE.
The platform processes live GPS telemetry data and uses Java/Spring APIs, Elasticsearch/Kibana, Vue.js, Leaflet, Windows .
NET, and GitLab CI/CD.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document complex Java/Spring applications, architecture, dependencies, and workflows.
- Reverse-engineer and document Elasticsearch data models, schemas, indexes, and queries.
- Reconstruct and troubleshoot local and staging development environments.
- Create architecture documentation, API documentation, deployment guides, and technical runbooks.
- Analyze and troubleshoot legacy multi-tier applications.
- Support GitLab repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct knowledge transfer and mentor the client’s engineering team for long-term platform ownership.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Framework.
- Deep production experience with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
- Experience analyzing, debugging, and documenting complex/legacy applications.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- C# / Windows .NET
- Vue.js / JavaScript
- Leaflet or geospatial applications
- GitLab and CI/CD
- REST APIs and distributed/multi-tier applications
- Experience with system reconstruction and knowledge transfer.
