Job Description – Senior IT Program Manager

Job Summary

The Senior IT Program Manager is responsible for leading and governing multiple interrelated IT projects within a program to achieve strategic business objectives. This role ensures successful delivery of complex, large-scale programs by managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment across multiple teams and functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of large, complex IT programs consisting of multiple projects.
• Define program roadmap, governance structure, objectives, and success criteria.
• Align program delivery with business strategy and organizational priorities.
• Oversee project managers and ensure coordinated execution across all workstreams.
• Manage program budget, resource allocation, and financial forecasting.
• Identify and manage cross-project dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Facilitate program governance forums, steering committees, and executive reporting.
• Ensure consistent application of project management standards, tools, and methodologies.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and communication across business and IT leadership.
• Manage vendor relationships and third-party delivery partners at program level.
• Ensure quality delivery, compliance, and benefits realization across the program.
• Support change management and adoption of delivered solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in program and portfolio management practices.
• Mentor and guide project/program management teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10–18 years of IT experience with at least 5–8 years in program management.
• Proven experience managing large-scale enterprise IT programs.
• Strong understanding of program and portfolio management principles.
• Experience in digital transformation, cloud, ERP, infrastructure, or enterprise application programs.
