Summary: The Senior iOS Engineer role focuses on developing scalable UI systems and mobile infrastructure for a leading tech company. This contract position involves building core mobile design infrastructure and contributing to high-priority initiatives, including GenAI integration. The engineer will work closely with designers and PMs to create high-performance components that enhance user experience across multiple apps. The role requires extensive experience in iOS development and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and support reusable UI components that scale across a family of mobile apps.
  • Own the native iOS implementation of design system elements — working in Swift/Objective-C with integrations via PHP/Hack.
  • Collaborate with designers, PMs, and infrastructure teams to build visually stunning, high-performance components.
  • Deliver high-quality code for new screens, dialogs, carousels, and animations.
  • Support ongoing migrations and legacy infrastructure; participate in experimentation and rollout strategies.
  • Optional on-call support rotation (once every 6 weeks – standard business hours).

Key Skills:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in iOS development.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP or Hack and experience interfacing iOS with backend components.
  • 7+ years’ experience with React.
  • Experience in mobile infra or UI component libraries (nice-to-have).
  • Prior experience at a large tech company or working on cross-app systems (nice-to-have).

Senior iOS Engineer – Design Systems (Contract)

Location: Remote (UK-based)

Duration: 6 months (starting October 2025)

£52.40p/h PAYE 15% BONUS

Hours: 40 per week

Are you passionate about building scalable UI systems and mobile infrastructure that impact millions of users? We’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join a high-performing team responsible for a cross-platform design system that powers some of the most visible features in consumer mobile apps today. This role is part of a team building the core mobile design infrastructure used across multiple apps within one of the world’s leading tech companies. You’ll be contributing to high-priority initiatives like GenAI integration and account services, while also shaping the future of mobile frameworks.
