Summary: The Senior IBM Maximo Consultant will lead and support the migration from Maximo 7.6 to MAS 9.1.x, focusing on system assessment, upgrade planning, and data migration. The role requires expertise in designing and deploying MAS environments, integrating data, and ensuring security compliance. The consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions while providing technical leadership. A strong background in IBM Maximo and cloud technologies is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support migration from Maximo 7.6 to MAS 9.1.x
- Perform system assessment & readiness analysis, upgrade planning and execution, data migration and validation
- Identify and remediate deprecated components and customizations
- Design and deploy MAS environments on Kubernetes / OpenShift platforms and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or on-prem hybrid)
- Configure high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), load balancing and scaling
- Migrate and redesign integrations using Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) and REST / OSLC APIs
- Perform ETL/data transformation activities and ensure data integrity and performance tuning post-migration
- Analyze existing Maximo 7.6 customizations and refactor or rebuild components to align with MAS architecture
- Configure Maximo Manage and related MAS applications
- Support environments aligned with NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP (if federal) and implement TLS/SSL configurations and Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance standards
- Work with cross-functional teams including architects, developers, DBAs, and infrastructure engineers
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and provide technical leadership and mentorship
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-15+ years of experience with IBM Maximo
- Strong experience with Maximo 7.6 (required) and MAS 8 / 9 (preferred or exposure)
- Expertise in Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), REST / OSLC APIs, automation scripting (Jython/Python), and BIRT reporting
- Experience with WebSphere / Liberty, Linux (RHEL), and Oracle / DB2 / SQL Server
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift (preferred), Docker containers, and AWS / Azure (highly preferred)
- Active Security Clearance (Secret / Top Secret / SCI preferred)
- Must be eligible to work on federal or secured environments
- Experience with Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 8.x / 9.x and prior experience in Government / DoD / Federal projects
