Senior Full Stack Developer required by Whitehall Resources for a 5+ month extendable project assignment with our client based in India.

Role Summary We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with strong Python backend experience to build the backend platform services. This role will focus on the backend services, including the API Engine, routing intelligence service, authentication integration, RBAC enforcement, notification APIs, memory services, audit logging, telemetry, and enterprise system integrations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable building secure, scalable backend services and integrating with enterprise systems such as MuleSoft, ServiceNow, SuccessFactors, Microsoft Entra ID, and internal engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services using Python, preferably Flask or FastAPI.
  • Build the API layer that connects the desktop client to enterprise services.
  • Implement the API-first execution model for deterministic business transactions.
  • Build and maintain API integrations with platforms such as MuleSoft, ServiceNow, SuccessFactors, Microsoft Graph, and internal systems.
  • Build the backend service for Routing Intelligence in collaboration with AI engineers.
  • Implement authentication and authorization using Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth2, OIDC, JWT validation, and RBAC.
  • Build backend APIs for chat sessions, conversation history, user preferences, agent registry, API registry, token usage, notifications, and audit logs.
  • Design and manage data persistence for conversations, tasks, routing decisions, telemetry, and user settings.
  • Implement secure handling of user context, access tokens, secrets, and enterprise data.
  • Build backend support for notification delivery, task status, workflow updates, and system alerts.
  • Collaborate with the front end developer to define clean API contracts.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers to integrate MuleSoft Agent Fabric and agent endpoints.
  • Implement observability, logging, metrics, tracing, and error handling.
  • Support CI/CD, containerisation, and deployment processes.
  • Write clean, maintainable, testable production-grade code.

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python backend development.
  • Experience with Flask, FastAPI, or similar Python web frameworks.
  • Strong REST API design and integration experience.
  • Experience building secure enterprise backend services.
  • Experience with authentication and authorization:
  • OAuth2
  • OIDC
  • JWT
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • RBAC
  • Experience integrating with enterprise APIs and SaaS platforms.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
  • Experience with caching or queueing technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar.
  • Experience with Docker and cloud/container deployment.
  • Strong understanding of API security, secrets management, rate limiting, and audit logging.
  • Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and API contract tests.
  • Ability to design clean service boundaries and backend architecture.
  • Ability to work closely with front end and AI engineering teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or MuleSoft APIs.
  • Experience with ServiceNow APIs.
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors APIs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph API.
  • Experience with AI agent platforms or agent orchestration systems.
  • Experience with WebSockets, SSE, or streaming API responses.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or cloud-native deployment.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, or Azure Monitor.
  • Experience with policy engines or rules engines.
  • Familiarity with token usage tracking and AI cost dashboards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior backend/full stack engineer who can own the platform layer, work independently, and build secure enterprise-grade APIs. They should be pragmatic, delivery-focused, and comfortable integrating multiple enterprise systems into one user-facing platform. Start Date is Immediate/ASAP!
