Summary: The Senior Finance Business Partner will provide strategic financial support to the Fundraising Directorate of a leading national charity, focusing on maximizing social impact through effective financial leadership. This home-working position is a 12-month fixed-term contract that involves partnering with senior fundraising stakeholders to enhance decision-making across various income streams. The role requires a qualified accountant with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly. The successful candidate will lead a team of fundraising accountants and drive continuous improvement in financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with fundraising leaders to develop budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans.
  • Providing insightful analysis on fundraising performance, return on investment and income trends.
  • Supporting business cases for new fundraising initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Identifying financial risks and opportunities and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Producing clear and engaging management information for a range of stakeholders.
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial planning, reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Leading a small, very capable team of fundraising accountants.
  • Supporting organisational planning cycles and contributing to wider finance initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong commercial and analytical thinking.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders in a complex organisation.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly and confidently to non-finance audiences.
  • Excellent financial modelling and forecasting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger strategic picture.
  • Collaborative approach and confidence to provide constructive challenge.
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, marketing, sales, membership or other income-generating functions.

We're looking for a commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner to support the Fundraising Directorate of a leading national charity. This is a home-working, 12-month FTC and an opportunity to combine strong financial leadership with social impact, helping ensure every pound invested delivers the greatest possible return for the people and communities served. As a key member of the Finance team, you'll provide strategic financial support to senior fundraising stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making across a range of income streams including individual giving, major donors, retail and foundations, corporate partnerships and legacy fundraising.

The Opportunity You'll act as a trusted adviser to budget holders and senior leaders, helping them understand financial performance, evaluate investment opportunities and develop sustainable growth plans. You'll challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and translate complex financial information into practical recommendations that support delivery of ambitious income targets.

About You You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a track record of influencing decision-making through high-quality financial analysis and business partnering. We're interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
