Summary: The Senior Backend Test Engineer role focuses on backend testing, automation, and ETL testing for a leading health insurance provider. Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios from scratch.
- Creating and utilizing complex SQL queries to validate and verify backend processes.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to review requirements, write defects, and contribute to agile ceremonies.
- Conducting ETL testing, including processing and transforming large datasets for migration and organization.
- Developing and automating test cases using Java and Jenkins.
- Performing API testing and contributing to integration test strategies.
- Mapping requirements to test cases and ensuring comprehensive coverage of test scenarios.
- Actively participating in fast-paced team collaborations and effectively communicating technical details to stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- At least 5 years of testing experience, with a focus on backend and ETL testing.
- Proficiency in creating and using complex SQL queries.
- Proficiency in writing code for automation using Java, Python, or similar.
- Experience with automation testing, including proficiency in Selenium, Java, and Jenkins.
- Hands-on experience with relational database management systems, such as DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools, including Jira for test case repository and defect tracking.
- Proven ability to develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases independently.
