Summary: The Senior Enterprise Architect for Legacy Modernization & Cloud Transformation will lead the architectural assessment and modernization of legacy systems within the payments and financial services domain. This role requires extensive experience in enterprise architecture, particularly with cloud-native solutions, and involves collaboration with various teams to ensure compliance and alignment. The architect will also mentor teams and provide governance throughout the solution design and deployment phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead architectural assessment of the current platform, including legacy systems, data formats, and integration patterns.
- Define and document the future-state architecture leveraging AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, Lambda, Step Functions).
- Develop modernization strategies including migration approaches, phased implementation, and risk mitigation.
- Architect scalable, secure, and resilient data platforms using cloud-native and hybrid patterns.
- Collaborate with client enterprise architecture, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and alignment.
- Provide architectural governance across solution design, development, and deployment phases.
- Mentor solution architects and engineering teams on best practices and modernization techniques.
Key Skills:
- 20+ years in enterprise architecture roles, with at least 5 years in cloud-native architecture (preferably AWS).
- Deep understanding of legacy systems: IBM mainframes, COBOL, EBCDIC, VSAM, Unix/Linux environments.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale data platforms and modernization programs.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, cloud security, IAM, networking, and cost optimization.
- Experience with API-led integration, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS).
- TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
