Summary: The role of Senior Electrical Design Engineer involves overseeing project progress and providing technical advice for Data Centre projects within an engineering consultancy. Key Responsibilities:
- Decision making on project progress and direct liaison with clients.
- Representation at technical meetings with customers and contractors.
- Carrying out engineering calculations to meet industry and legal standards.
- Mentoring junior staff and collaborating with Principal and Associate Engineers.
- Validation and checking of designs and specifications.
- Managing and forecasting fee spend to ensure budget compliance.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clients.
Key Skills:
- Data Centre experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
- Competence in specification design/drawing for various building types.
- Ability to present engineering concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of industry design guides.
- Proficiency in Amtech, Dialux, and Revit.
- Ability to liaise and coordinate with other service disciplines.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer’s day to day will involve decision making on project progress and direct liaison/providing advice to client.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors’ teams.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will carry out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required industry and legal standards.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be mentoring junior staff and team members whilst working alongside Principal and Associate Engineers.
Validation, checking of designs and specifications.
Managing and forecasting fee spend ensuring that work is kept to budget.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is to develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND OF THE SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be competent in specification design/drawing for several building types.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be capable of presenting engineering concepts to clients and other project stakeholders.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will have a strong understanding of industry design guides.
Ability to use Amtech, Dialux and Revit
Ability to liaise & coordinate with the other services disciplines.
