Summary: The Senior DevOps Engineer role is a 6-month contract position focused on enhancing the client's Cloud, Container, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Observability practices. The position is remote-first for UK-based candidates, requiring minimal office visits. Candidates should have strong experience with AWS, Docker, Terraform, GitHub, and NewRelic. The role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive best practices in CI/CD using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Manage cloud infrastructure using AWS.
- Work with container technologies, specifically Docker and ECS.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Utilize NewRelic for observability and monitoring.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proficiency in containerization using Docker and ECS.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD practices using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with observability tools, particularly NewRelic.

Oliver Bernard are currently working with a FinTech / Trading client of ours who are looking to take on a strong DevOps contractor as part of expansion plans across their Cloud, Container, IaC and Observability practices. This is a 6 month contract, remote first for UK based candidates (with office visits only required once p/month) and requires the following experience:
- Cloud experience with AWS
- Container work with Docker and ECS
- IaC with Terraform, comfortable driving best practices
- CI/CD with GitHub / GitHub Actions
- Observability with NewRelic
