Summary: The Senior DevOps Consultant role involves conducting investigations and tests of complex software systems to enhance performance and resolve significant issues. The position requires leadership in guiding less experienced personnel and providing technical consultation to various organizations. The role is fully remote, requires SC clearance, and is classified as inside IR35. The consultant must have recent experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, and AWS, among other technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations and tests of complex software systems.
- Review completion and implementation of technical products.
- Evaluate vendor capabilities on projects.
- Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced personnel.
- Offer technical consultation to other organizations and interact with senior customer personnel.
- Provide first level support to the customer base.
Key Skills:
- Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, and AWS.
- Background in automating application deployment and configuration management.
- Experience with automation/configuration management tools (RedHat, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
- Knowledge of IAC technologies (Cloudformation or Terraform).
- Strong Linux Sysadmin skills.
- Containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker & Kubernetes).
- Good knowledge of internet communication concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Experience deploying Continuous Integration solutions.
- Awareness of security considerations in web application deployment.
- Monitoring and logging experience (ELK, Prometheus/Grafana).
- Strong AWS knowledge (EC2, EKS, RDS, Aurora, networking, cost management).
