Contract: Initially until 30 September, with extension expected through to at least 31 March 2027

Start: 3 August 2026

We're looking for a technically capable Senior Delivery Manager to support a major government platform transition.

The team manages a live Azure-based Platform as a Service environment using Kubernetes. The current platform is approaching end of life, with services transitioning to a new AWS-based platform.

What you'll be doing

• Leading a multidisciplinary platform and engineering team
• Managing the transition from the incumbent delivery supplier
• Coordinating release, deployment and production governance
• Managing technical roadmaps, risks, dependencies and blockers
• Supporting the migration and eventual decommissioning of the existing platform
• Improving delivery practices, team planning and continuous delivery
• Working with product, technical, data, research and design colleagues

Essential experience

• Senior Delivery Management experience within government or another complex environment
• Experience delivering technical platforms, infrastructure or PaaS services
• Strong understanding of cloud delivery, ideally Azure, AWS or Kubernetes environments
• Experience managing service or supplier transitions
• Strong release and deployment governance experience
• GDS and multidisciplinary agile delivery experience
• Confidence challenging senior stakeholders and influencing technical delivery decisions
• Experience coaching teams and improving ways of working
