Summary: We are looking for a proactive Senior Database Engineer with expertise in Oracle and SQL Server to provide essential database support and maintenance for critical production services at a bank. The role involves managing the database lifecycle, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with teams to ensure operational efficiency. The position is remote and requires flexibility to work beyond core hours when necessary. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in database administration within a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide database administrative support including lifecycle management, backup and recovery, monitoring, and incident management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
• Implement process improvements through automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with teams and escalate issues to Lead Database Engineers as needed.
• Work flexibly beyond core business hours when necessary.

Key Skills:

• Strong experience in database administration for Oracle and SQL Server in a production setting.
• Analytical troubleshooting skills for production issues.
• Experience with database builds, patching, migrations, and upgrades.
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery methods.
• Database performance tuning and optimization skills.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Familiarity with various operating systems including Oracle/Red Hat Linux, Windows, AIX, and Solaris.
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative behaviors.
• Awareness of ITIL Service Management processes.
