Summary: We are looking for a proactive Senior Database Engineer with expertise in Oracle and SQL Server to provide essential database support and maintenance for critical production services at a bank. The role involves a variety of responsibilities including database lifecycle management, troubleshooting, and process improvement. The position requires collaboration with other teams to resolve operational issues efficiently. This is a remote role for a duration of 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide database administrative support including lifecycle support, back-up and recovery, monitoring, change and incident management, troubleshooting, tuning, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with teams and escalate issues to Lead Database Engineers to ensure resolution within SLAs.
• Work flexibly beyond core business hours when necessary.

Key Skills:

• Strong understanding and experience of database administration in Oracle and SQL Server in a production environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues and recommend solutions.
• Experience in database builds, patching, migrations, and upgrades.
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery methods.
• Database performance tuning and optimisation skills.
• Experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Familiarity with Oracle/Red Hat Linux, Windows, AIX, and Solaris operating systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Awareness of ITIL Service Management processes.
