Summary: The role of Senior Data Engineer focuses on designing and delivering scalable AWS-based data solutions for a major enterprise client within a global consultancy. The position requires expertise in data engineering, particularly with DynamoDB and AWS services, to support high-volume operational and analytics workloads. The contract is initially for six months and is classified as inside IR35. The role is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data solutions using AWS native services
- Develop and optimise DynamoDB data models for large-scale datasets
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and AWS services
- Develop interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using AWS QuickSight
- Work with structured and semi-structured data from multiple source systems
- Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to define data requirements and solutions
Key Skills:
- Strong experience as a Data Engineer within AWS environments
- Hands-on expertise with DynamoDB, including schema design and optimisation
- Strong Python development experience for ETL/ELT engineering
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, Glue, Athena, or Kinesis
- Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using AWS QuickSight
- Strong understanding of data modelling and large-scale data processing
- Experience working with streaming or event-driven data pipelines is advantageous
