Summary: The Senior Cyber Project Consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing security measures within a leading organization by advocating for Secure by Design principles and conducting thorough security assessments. This position involves engaging in design reviews, providing expert guidance on security policies, and mentoring junior team members. The consultant will work remotely and is expected to ensure compliance with industry standards while continuously evaluating and remediating security risks. The contract is set to last until December 2025, with an immediate start date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building Key Relationships – Advocate for Secure by Design principles and foster a strong security culture.
• Engaging in Design Reviews – Conduct threat modelling, risk assessments, and design reviews to embed security at every stage.
• Providing Expert Guidance – Offer security policy and standards expertise, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry frameworks.
• Capturing Security Evidence – Ensure security considerations are integrated into our change solutions.
• Assessing Security Risks – Continuously evaluate risks and recommend improvements to enhance our security posture.
• Defining Security Test Objectives – Set clear testing goals to prevent vulnerabilities before deployment.
• Remediating Risks – Ensure security findings are addressed within risk appetite before production release.
• Supporting & Mentoring – Assist leadership and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Key Skills:

• Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and ability to explain their impact to both tech teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge across domains like IAM, network security, cryptography, PKI, mobile & API security.
• Ability to interpret industry trends, regulations, and evolving threats.
• Experience in scoping tests, risk assessments, and remediation planning.
• Confident in collaborating with senior management and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models and their security implications.
• Prior experience in a similar security-focused role.
