Summary: The Senior Construction Engineer will provide home office construction input for the LBA CCS Transport & Storage Project, part of the HyNet Northwest initiative aimed at creating a low carbon industrial cluster in the UK by 2030. The role involves technical evaluations, preparation of construction plans, and oversight of offshore decommissioning activities. The engineer will also interface with vendor and contractor teams to ensure project specifications and safety standards are met. This position is fully remote, with a duration of 12 months and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct constructability reviews and prepare constructability reports.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations and offshore installation studies.
  • Evaluate offshore execution, schedules, and fabrication man hours.
  • Prepare construction execution plans and evaluate construction manhours.
  • Develop construction procedures and project specifications.
  • Provide offshore decommissioning constructability inputs and safety reviews.
  • Review deliverables including scopes of work and construction work packs.
  • Interface with vendor and contractor teams during tender bid evaluations.
  • Conduct offshore site visits to monitor progress and inspect works.
  • Manage documentation, site management, and contract management.
  • Oversee health, safety, environment, and quality management on site.
  • Engage in project management activities including feasibility studies and risk management.

Key Skills:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree/Certification (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience in offshore decommissioning and safety reviews (HAZIDs/HAZOPs).
  • Strong understanding of construction work packs and technical bid evaluations.
  • Ability to evaluate construction manhours based on engineering deliverables.
  • Experience in offshore execution, installation, and decommissioning.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and risk management.
  • Strong documentation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and contractor interfacing.

Job Description

This role is to undertake home office construction input to our client's LBA CCS Transport & Storage Project is part of the HyNet Northwest Project which aims to transform a region of the UK into the world's first low carbon industrial cluster by 2030. The Liverpool Bay Decommissioning Project is a crucial Project who's successful execution is required to support the Liverpool Bay CCS Project.

Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities

  • Constructability review and preparation of Constructability report.
  • Technical Bid Evaluation.
  • Offshore installation studies, methodologies and preparation of Installation Report.
  • Evaluation of Offshore execution, schedule and fabrication man hours.
  • Preliminary construction cost to support cost estimation activities.
  • Preparation of Construction Execution Plan and Evaluation of Construction Manhours.
  • Preparation of Construction procedures and construction project specifications.

Candidate's qualifications, professional experience and skills required for the role

  • Offshore decommissioning constructability inputs and safety reviews such as HAZIDs/HAZOPs.
