Summary: The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud platforms on Azure and AWS for a global nuclear engineering organization. The position requires extensive automation expertise and the use of Infrastructure as Code tools to support complex cloud solutions. This is a remote position with an initial contract duration of six months, offering a competitive daily rate. The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure robust and secure cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure and AWS.
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks to streamline cloud deployments and operations.
  • Utilize Bicep for Azure resource provisioning and management.
  • Work with Azure Batch to manage large-scale workloads.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments.
  • Ensure best practices in security, cost optimization, and compliance within cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues to maintain platform reliability.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience with both Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing automation solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Bicep and other Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with Azure Batch for managing large-scale compute workloads.
  • Solid understanding and experience with AWS implementation best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

Salary (Rate): £550
