Summary: The Senior Cloud Architect - Azure role involves designing, implementing, and evolving scalable digital solutions using modern cloud platforms, primarily Microsoft Azure. This position requires engaging with enterprise stakeholders to address their challenges and leading technical workstreams to deliver comprehensive solutions. The role is a fixed-term contract until March 2026, with potential for extension, and includes occasional client travel. The successful candidate will contribute to internal standards and collaborate with various teams to shape proposals and engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with enterprise stakeholders to understand their challenges and advise on how cloud technologies can address strategic and operational needs.
- Lead technical workstreams and take ownership of delivering end-to-end solutions.
- Collaborate with commercial and account teams during early-stage conversations to help shape proposals and future engagements.
- Produce clear, high-quality architectural designs, implementation plans and supporting technical materials.
- Contribute to the improvement of internal standards, engineering practices, documentation templates and toolsets.
- Design and implement cloud environments and supporting services in line with customer objectives.
- Continue developing your technical expertise and professional skills through ongoing learning.
- Participate actively in team knowledge-sharing and community initiatives.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to audiences with varying levels of expertise.
Key Skills:
- Solid, hands-on experience working in roles centred around Microsoft Azure, including building environments, performing migrations, and implementing landing zone designs.
- Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, cloud migration approaches, and modern cloud-native architecture, with Azure as your primary platform.
- Proven history of designing and provisioning full Azure environments at scale.
- Confident using Azure-focused Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Motivated by understanding the wider business landscape and aligning technical decisions with the outcomes your clients aim to achieve.
- Experience shaping large-scale Azure architectures and mapping out technology transformation plans.
- Either already SC cleared or meet the eligibility criteria, which includes having lived in the UK for at least five years.
