Senior Business Analyst - Government - Remote - 5 months+ £700+ Inside IR35

A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong data governance and/or data modelling expertise to support the design and delivery of core deliverables for the a Data Marketplace programme.

You will work closely with data engineers, programme management, legal/commercial teams, research analysts, and external stakeholders (data providers, tourism bodies, technology partners) to translate strategic intent into practical, implementable frameworks and standards.

Essential

• Proven track record as a senior business analyst, ideally within data-intensive or platform/marketplace programmes.
• Hands on experience with data governance frameworks, data governance frameworks, data ownership models, stewardship, access control, data quality standards, and translating these into scheme governance documentation(participation criteria, rule change processes, dispute resolution).
• Practical experience of data modelling, data taxonomy development, and defining metadata/schema standards to support data harmonisation and interoperability.
• A good working knowledge of Databricks (or similar Data and AI platforms)
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the experience running workshops across technical and non-technical audiences, including external organisations and SMEs with limited data maturity.
• Working knowledge of data cataloguing and governance tooling (e.g Databrick Unity Catalogue, or equivalent Metadata management platforms)
