Summary: The Senior BI Solution Engineer is tasked with supporting an embedded Tableau platform, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards. This role requires collaboration with engineering and ETL teams, as well as the execution of automation scripts for operational efficiency. The engineer will also perform Tableau Administrator duties and communicate effectively with business partners to deliver cross-functional reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and support Tableau dashboards
- Create and maintain report specifications and process documentations as part of the required data deliverables.
- Collaborate with Engineering and ETL teams to discover and leverage new data being introduced into the environment
- Write and run Python/PowerShell/Bash scripts for automation and maintenance activities
- Support existing scripts and workflows that leverage Tableau APIs to manage Tableau access
- Perform Tableau Administrator duties such as Salesforce integration, OKTA configuration, and embedding complex dashboards to Salesforce.
- Work closely with architects, cloud engineers to ensure optimal functioning of the application
- Communicating with business partners, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, articulate data deliverables, and provide technical designs.
- Serve as liaison with business and technical teams to achieve project objectives, delivering cross-functional reporting solutions.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize an evolving workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Participant in production on-call support rotation.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 9 years of experience in BI development and support
- 2 years of experience in Tableau server administration, including installation and optimization
- 5 years of experience in Tableau desktop dashboard development and support
- 5 years of experience with SQL
- 5 years of experience with Python
- 3 years of experience with AWS data ecosystem (Redshift, S3, etc.)
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills between business partners and technical teams
- Highly motivated self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to work independently to formulate innovative solutions
