Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Senior AWS Cloud Engineer with 15+ years of experience and a strong background in AWS, Python, and PySpark, along with healthcare domain expertise. The ideal candidate will design and build scalable, secure, and compliant cloud-based data platforms handling sensitive healthcare data while adhering to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud-native architectures on AWS for healthcare applications and data platforms
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and PySpark for processing large healthcare datasets
  • Develop ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured healthcare data (EHR/EMR, claims, clinical data)
  • Work with AWS services such as:
    • Amazon S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, Athena
  • Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Implement data lakes and data warehouses for healthcare analytics and reporting
  • Optimize performance and cost efficiency of cloud workloads
  • Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Implement orchestration using Airflow or AWS Step Functions
  • Enable real-time and batch data processing pipelines
  • Collaborate with data engineers, clinicians, analysts, and business stakeholders
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 15+ years of IT experience, with significant experience in cloud engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and PySpark
  • Experience working with large-scale healthcare datasets
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Data modeling, ETL pipelines, and distributed computing
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services:
    • S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena
  • Experience building secure and compliant data systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as:
    • HL7, FHIR, ICD, CPT (preferred)
  • Strong SQL and database skills (RDBMS and NoSQL)

Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
