Summary: The Senior Auditing Consultant role is a remote position focused on conducting coding audits for interventional radiology procedures and various hospital settings. The consultant will ensure high-quality audit results, identify trends for quality improvement, and provide coding guidance to client staff. This position requires independent work within established workflows using client systems like Epic. The contract duration is between 3 to 6 months, starting as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inpatient, behavioral health, ambulatory surgery, emergency room, and other hospital outpatient audits, including evaluation and management (E/M) services for technical and professional reporting
- Conduct interventional radiology (IVR) coding audits in accordance with CIRCC CPT-only standards
- Maintain current, working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding principles, government regulations, and healthcare reimbursement systems (MS-DRG, APR-DRG, IPPPS, APC, RBRVS)
- Utilize client systems (e.g., Epic) to access records, complete audits, and document findings accurately
- Identify audit result patterns, trends, and key problem areas, and communicate findings to the client as opportunities for quality improvement
- Provide coding guidance and answer technical questions from client staff as needed
- Deliver audit-related education or clarification based on audit results
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in all audit outputs
- Complete all duties successfully from a remote office, effectively using coding reference materials and Microsoft Windows applications
- Conduct all business interactions with professionalism, flexibility, and a client- and colleague-centric focus
- Participate in internal meetings or training courses as requested
- Perform other related duties as required
Key Skills:
- Active CIRCC certification (required)
- Minimum 1+ year experience performing IVR coding audits

- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

You will deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality audit results, identify trends and areas for quality improvement, and provide coding guidance to client staff. The consultant will work independently within established workflows, using client systems such as Epic, and will play a key role in supporting client compliance and quality initiatives.
