Summary: The Senior Application Engineer will be responsible for shipping and scoping features, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve product roadmap goals. This role requires active participation in team communications and sprint ceremonies while providing technical leadership and guidance. The engineer will also engage in technical decision-making and ensure effective collaboration with external development teams. The position is remote and offers a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ship and scope features
• Conduct active code review in Github
• Share best practices for database and API development
• Participate in async communication in Slack to surface concerns, risks, or opportunities
• Attend all required Sprint Ceremonies and related meetings
• Maintain active communication using Slack, Email, and Teams
• Engage with Truss Delivery Management to accurately report hours and work completed weekly
• Define tickets to accomplish product roadmap goals
• Commit to scope of work accomplished in 2-week sprints
• Work transparently with team/stakeholders/internal dependents to solve impediments
• Provide meaningful code review

Key Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM preferred but not required
• 5 to 10 years of relevant hands-on experience
• Technical planning skills
• Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence
• Adaptability and comfort with client-facing interactions
• Willingness to collaborate regularly across teams
• Comfortable with technical decision-making and explaining decisions to non-technical audiences
• Ability to occasionally be a technical lead on features and epics
• Experience with Node, Postgres, GraphQL, and API design
