Summary: The Senior AI Voice Engineer will be responsible for building and scaling a production-grade AI voice platform for a major UK financial services organization. This role requires taking existing Python-based prototypes into production, defining architecture, and influencing technical decisions. The position involves direct collaboration with senior stakeholders and focuses on creating scalable solutions for real customer interactions. This is an initial 6-month contract with remote work and occasional London meet-ups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and building production-grade AI voice agent solutions
  • Developing scalable Python services and APIs
  • Working with speech-to-text (STT), large language models (LLMs) and text-to-speech (TTS) technologies
  • Evaluating and recommending architecture decisions across voice AI platforms
  • Building resilient, low-latency conversational systems
  • Integrating AI voice capabilities into existing customer service workflows
  • Defining monitoring, observability and performance standards
  • Helping transition existing prototypes into a secure, scalable production platform

Key Skills:

  • Commercial experience with Azure Voice Live, ElevenLabs, or Deepgram
  • Expert Python development
  • Experience with Real Time AI systems
  • Knowledge of LLM-powered applications
  • Familiarity with conversational AI platforms

We are looking for a Senior AI Voice Engineer to help build and scale a production-grade AI voice platform for a major UK financial services organisation.

This is not a proof-of-concept role.

The business has already built initial Python-based prototypes and is now looking for an experienced contractor to take the solution into production, helping define the architecture, challenge technical decisions, and build a scalable platform capable of handling real customer interactions.

You'll work directly with senior stakeholders and have significant influence over both the technical direction and implementation approach.

What You'll Be Doing
