Summary: The Senior AI Architect role involves leading the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI applications utilizing advanced technologies such as LLMs and agentic AI frameworks. The position requires a blend of data science expertise, AI product design, and cloud-native architecture, particularly within the Azure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering production-grade AI systems and shaping AI strategies in enterprise environments. This is a contract position with potential for extension, requiring proof of rights to work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop intelligent applications using state-of-the-art LLMs (eg, Gemini, OpenAI, Mistral) for tasks such as summarization, generation, Q&A, and reasoning
- Lead the integration of agentic AI frameworks (eg, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen) to build autonomous or semi-autonomous systems for complex workflows
- Define and enforce scalable patterns for deploying AI/ML services, including model orchestration, prompt engineering, evaluation, and monitoring
- Apply data science and ML techniques (NLP, supervised/unsupervised learning, predictive analytics) to support AI use cases with robust data pipelines
- Design and implement full-stack solutions across the Azure cloud platform, including Back End services, Front End components, data services, security and identity
- Collaborate with DevOps and MLOps teams to build CI/CD pipelines, ensuring robust versioning, testing, and deployment of AI workloads
- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams and contribute to programme-wide technology strategy and principles
Key Skills:
- 8+ years in software architecture or enterprise-level solution design
- 3+ years hands-on experience with AI/ML systems, including LLMs, RAG and agent-based systems.
- Strong data science background: statistical modelling, ML pipelines, feature engineering, data visualization, model evaluation
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, with 3+ years working on Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Front End frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and their integration with Back End AI APIs
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, security, and performance optimization
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
