The requirements listed in the job description remain the primary qualifications for this role. The following guidance is intended to help suppliers prioritize and evaluate candidates against those requirements.
Active Directory Depth Matters
While many candidates may have Active Directory listed on their resume, the hiring manager is looking for individuals who have worked within complex enterprise environments and can speak confidently to the architecture, health, security, and operational support of Active Directory.
Strong candidates should be able to discuss:

- DNS and replication troubleshooting
- Active Directory Sites & Services
- Authentication protocols and dependencies
- Delegated administration and privileged access models
- Operational challenges associated with large, distributed environments
Enterprise Scale Experience
Preference will be given to candidates who have supported large, global Active Directory environments rather than localized or regional deployments.
Strong examples include:
- Multi-region environments
- Globally distributed user populations
- Multiple domains and forests
- Large enterprise infrastructures with significant authentication and availability requirements
AWS & Cloud Integration Experience
The hiring manager is particularly interested in candidates who understand how Active Directory operates within AWS and hybrid-cloud environments.
Relevant experience may include:
- Active Directory deployments within AWS
- AWS-based domain controller implementations
- Hybrid identity architectures
- Authentication services supporting cloud-hosted applications
- Infrastructure modernization efforts tied to cloud adoption
Automation & Infrastructure Engineering
Candidates who combine traditional Active Directory expertise with modern infrastructure engineering practices will be most competitive.
Examples include:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, etc.)
- Automation of provisioning, deployment, or maintenance activities
- CI/CD pipeline exposure
- Standardization and operational efficiency initiatives
Disaster Recovery & Operational Resiliency
The team is continuing to mature Active Directory resiliency capabilities. Candidates should have experience participating in or leading activities such as:
Examples include:
- Disaster recovery planning
- Recovery testing and validation
- Tabletop exercises
- Operational readiness improvements
- Critical incident response and remediation
Security & Audit Remediation
Experience improving the security posture of enterprise identity infrastructure is highly valued.
Examples include:
- Resolving Active Directory audit findings
- Security hardening initiatives

In addition to addressing the requirements outlined in the job description, please include:
- Scale of the Active Directory environment(s) supported.
- Scope of AWS and cloud-related experience.
- Examples of automation, Infrastructure as Code, or CI/CD initiatives.
- Disaster recovery planning, testing, or implementation experience.
- Security remediation, audit response, or hardening activities.
- The candidate's specific role in modernization, migration, or infrastructure improvement efforts.
- Why the candidate is a strong fit for a team focused on Active Directory modernization and AWS integration.
The strongest submissions will clearly demonstrate both
enterprise Active Directory expertise and the ability to support modern cloud-based infrastructure initiatives, rather than focusing solely on traditional IAM administration activities.
