Summary: As a Security Automation Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of security automation tools and pipelines, providing strategic guidance to stakeholders. This role focuses on enhancing the Enterprise Security team's capabilities through automation and secure system engineering. The position is fully remote and is structured as a 6-month contract-to-hire. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design and deploy security solutions aligned with business objectives and risk management strategies
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable, distributed logging pipelines
- Automate the deployment and configuration of security tooling and infrastructure
- Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines to support the security team’s operations
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience (10+ years in technology roles)
- 5+ years of experience building scalable security tools and utilities
- 3+ years of experience in host, network, and application security
- 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix environments and web protocols
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and managing workloads on AWS
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Eagerness to stay current with evolving technologies and cybersecurity threats
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proven experience in designing and managing Kubernetes clusters
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows
- Expertise in log management, parsing strategies, and automation tools
- Experience working within DOD or FedRAMP-regulated environments

Security Automation Engineer
As a Security Automation Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and strategic guidance on security automation and secure system engineering to both internal and external stakeholders.
