Summary: The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role is a remote contract position focused on test automation, HL7 message validation, API testing, and data validation. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, automate, and maintain tests for HL7 integration (e.g., DFT and ADT message types)
- Automate API testing using tools such as Postman
- Validate data using SQL queries, joins, and stored procedures (preferably in SQL Server)
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on requirements
- Schedule and monitor nightly automated test runs and report on test results
- Provide technical and operational support for automation frameworks and QA activities

Key Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in software test automation
- 5+ years of API testing experience
- 3+ years of hands-on SQL experience (preferably with SQL Server)

- Solid understanding of QA methodologies and types of testing: functional, regression, integration, data validation, performance, exploratory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Python (nice to have)
- Familiarity with Robot Framework or Playwright (nice to have)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
